AuctionAds

July 30th, 2007 · 5 Comments

I’m trying out AuctionAds on some new blogs, the blogs are totally product-oriented so I thought they would be a good spot for testing. The only annoying thing so far is that once in a while the ad won’t display at all, and sometimes when it does, it shows popular products rather than targeted ones, until I refresh the screen and then it goes back to targeted ads. Once I get some visitors I’ll really be able to make some good comparisons.

Anyone have some success with AuctionAds?

I think the operative word is “some”. I had a good bit of success early on right after they launched but I think most of that was from others signing up under me. Now, I get about $2-5 a month from them. Not gonna break the bank. One thing though is that I don’t have any specifically product oriented sites that I run it on, so you may have much more success than I did.

I’ve been using auction ads for one of my product blogs as well. The product is very popular on eBay and thought he AuctionAds would be a good fit. So far, I’ve been disappointed in the results.

I’ve had 2793 ad impressions with little over 50 clicks and $0.00 in revenue.

I think I’m going to switch to just Google adsense for now.

“2793 ad impressions with little over 50 clicks and $0.00 in revenue” - wow, that really really sucks!

Thanks guys, sounds like I should just switch over to Adsense now, too!

I would have to say that I’ve tried AuctionAds out on 3 sites. All of which have been content driven - but I thought with a couple of them, being very niche-y… I thought I’d give it a whirl. So far success has hit only one site. Depending on what you’d call success :)

In total I think I’ve made about 3 dollars - and I’d been running for about 3 months. I took it down from one of my sites, thinking maybe it was just too much overload, and people needed to see something else.

I’m not sure. But I think a more product oriented blog/site might do better… you’ll have to keep us posted. I’m curious to see if you have more success (and I hope you do!)

I’ve tried them out on a few sites. Just when I’m about to take it off, I check my states, like today, and see I just made another $10 so I guess it bought a few more days ;-)

I like having an ad like AuctionAds that has a targeted photo - it almost adds content in a way - for the two targeted sites I have them on now. I took them off a site that was more general - I didn’t have something specific enough to target and it never converted.
