Designing is probably my favorite part of all of this - sure I’ll buy a template now and then when I’m in a hurry to get a nice-looking site up. But I really enjoy designing sites myself. Now that doesn’t mean that they look wonderful by any means, as I’m sure some of you who’ve seen my sites can attest to ;) - but I really enjoy choosing color schemes and playing with images and such.
So last week I designed my first WordPress theme - it’s a “clean” design - no frills - but I ended up liking the end result so I “released” it over the weekend.
Okay, so not only is this fun for me, but this is a whole world of untapped links that I may be delving into here! When I logged into my design blog’s dashboard today I saw that there are already several blogs using it - and it was very cool to see how fast the links came in - but what was even cooler was seeing these personal blogs using moi’s theme - I’m so giddy!
So, my next strategy is to make some themes that go with my existing sites and then release them with a link to those sites at the bottom. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time, I want to learn more about design, and it’s fun - so why not?
Time to pay a visit to the CSS Zen Garden…

What exactly is the ‘design blog’s dashboard’ and can we see your new design?
