If 2006 was the year of quantity - then you could say this year is the year of quality, or more specifically, focus.
Last year I didn’t know what to do - I went from making $1000 a month at the end of ‘05 to making $300-$400 a month at the beginning of ‘06. I didn’t know what to do for a few months, that is, until the 50 site challenge came up, and I thought that making 50 new sites sounded like a grand idea - if for nothing else, than a way to experiment with different ideas I’d had.
I didn’t make it to 50, but I did get 30-some new sites up. Some of the new ones are strictly original content, some are strictly PLR articles, some are press releases, some are a mix, and some are blogs. Part of the money I spent on articles this month went toward articles for distributing to promote those sites. I thought that if they each had one article out there for people to use and to link back to me with, I could let them sit for a while and in the mean time maybe generate a few links back.
Now, for the most part, I’m done with those seeds for a while. I have picked one site that I’m going to spend most of my time focusing on - until by hell or high water it becomes successful!
I had to think about what “successful” would mean, and decided that I’m going to work on it at least until it gets into the top three of one of the top three SERPs for one of its main keywords, or until the site is making at least $50 a day. Those are both going to be tough goals for me, but I am pretty determined on this one.
Let’s just call the site “Household Appliance Original Content Site” for all intents and purposes. I will be giving more details on exactly how I’m promoting it and building it in future posts.
